A North Carolina native, Dr. Jenny Jackson attended North Carolina State University, where she was valedictorian, earning her undergraduate degree in microbiology. She attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine, graduating second in her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.  She received the Dean’s Community Service Award and was chosen to be part of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Forsyth Institute Research Academy.  She then specialized in pediatric dentistry with an additional three years of training at UNC School of Dentistry and UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, as well as obtained a Masters’ Degree in Public Health. After residency, she completed her board certification, becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also honored as a Fellow by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for service and leadership in her field.

Dr. Jackson's decision to open Asheville Pediatric Dentistry in 2007 stemmed from a love of children and wanting their dental experiences to be fun and easy. Growing up she could vividly recall dental experiences that caused her great anxiety and discomfort in the midst of being separated from her parents, despite the best efforts of caring providers. She decided she would craft a nurturing environment and do everything possible to ensure comfort, joy, and closeness to parents during visits. In 2016 Dr. Jackson was overjoyed to have a like-minded practitioner and great friend, Dr. Hardaway, join her in helping make this dream accessible for more patients.

While practicing in Asheville, Dr. Jackson remains affiliated with UNC as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and has served 5 years on the Buncombe County Dental Society, including President. She is currently serving on Board of the NC Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to her leadership positions, Dr. Jackson routinely gives back to the local community by volunteering to screen children through the Asheville City Schools Head Start Program, educating children about dental health in the local schools personally and with her dental team, serving on the AB Tech Dental Advisory Committee, and helping teach local dental assisting and hygiene students.

Dr. Jackson makes her home in Asheville with her husband, two young children, and two dogs. In her free time, Dr. Jackson enjoys being with family and friends, especially outdoors, doing paddle sports, traveling, practicing yoga, and reading.
